The Reel Grit Endurance Challenge started in LA and we Austin folks finally got permission to hold our own. The basic premise is a film marathon where all the movies are generally considered awful, participants may not talk through the films, if one must use the restroom one must do so in less than a minute or be forced to stand for the remainder of the film, etc. It is exactly what its name implies. The problem is, it seems we Austinites have more tolerance for crap…

Tweet play-by-play and review:

::The racism in FURRY VENGEANCE is a bit squirm-inducing but it’s pretty funny otherwise. #bringit #RGECA::

::Loving how much abuse Brooke Shields takes in FURRY VENGEANCE. #RGECA::

::FURRY VENGEANCE. I laughed. Next is an Austin pick! #RGECA::

Another movie that isn’t as bad as its reputation would have you believe. Don’t get me wrong, under a critical eye this pales in comparison to COP OUT even but there’s something charming about the mistimed slapstick on display. My favorite part was definitely the complete shaming of Brooke Shields, she’s just sunk so slow with this movie. At one point she gets hit in the face with a slab of meat which knocks her off a deck. I almost lost my complete shit at that point. Bad, but entertaining. No endurance necessary.
